The Atlantic Group goes wireless
When one of its important conference customers approached The Atlantic Group with a proposition, it become clear that their wireless network was not going to cope. This customer wanted to use the Central Pier Peninsula venue to organise a three day event where the participants required a high performance Wi-Fi connection to up to 200 concurrent users. Robert Anvieh the group’s IT and Maintenance Manager realised that he needed help …. and a new Wi-Fi solution to cover all the group’s venues including Peninsula, Maia, Sumac and Sketch.
After evaluating a range of solutions he settled in DyCom Wireless Proposal’ for a Ruckus Wireless Zoneflex system using the latest 3X3:3 MIMO 7982 indoor access points. With less than two weeks for the conference, there was a race against time to implement the proposed wireless system, new switching and a higher capacity Internet connection.
The Ruckus Zoneflex system consisting of a 1100 Zoneflex controller and 12 7982 access points was delivered just on time before the start of the conference. They were some small issues that were ironed out at the start of the conference first day and then from then on was a trouble free operation. The system provided high performance connectivity to up to 180 concurrent clients including smartphones, tablets and laptops.
