After a long evaluation period considering several vendor options, Carlton Football Club selected DyCom Wireless to implement a Ruckus Wireless Zoneflex system for their corporate offices and training grounds at Visy Park.
The new system allows high speed wireless network connectivity for Carlton Football Club staff in the office environment and a fast Internet connection for corporate guests laptops, smartphones and tablets. The training ground is also Wi-Fi covered to provide access to sport science staff and club supporters visiting the premises during Open Days. One innovative application is the use of digital video to record players in action during training sessions. Coaching staff can then replay of video from tablets and laptops in the ground thus allowing a fast feedback to players.
The system consists of dual Zoneflex 1100 controllers in a redundant configuration. Sixteen of the top of line Ruckus R700 Dual Band 802.11AC access points were selected due to their high performance and slick low visual impact design for the indoor office environment and only two of Ruckus 7782 Dual Band outdoor access points were required provide full training ground coverage.
The system has been commissioned and it is in full operation. The next stage of the process is to provide a more integrated Social Media presence and the integration with a digital display system.
Jeffrey Phuah, Carlton Football Club IT Manager, commented that they selected DyCom Wireless based on the demonstrated Ruckus Zoneflex system capabilities and in DyCom’s reputation in project delivery and support. “DyCom delivered every promise they made during our evaluation process.
